Research Shows Vitamins and Supplements may Help to Fight Depression

In the last number of years, research is showing that the role of Vitamin D in the body is a more important factor than previously thought. While Vitamin D plays a major part in calcium absorption, specifically a high priority for women; it is also linked as the ‘sunshine vitamin’ as the body produces Vitamin D when exposed to outdoor light. New research is showing that this link can be taken to another level to effect mood and depression.

Vitamins and Supplements

A small study was set up involving three women that suffered from depression. Increased levels of Vitamin D were associated with a lowering of the depression symptoms. The study did not include whether lowered levels of Vitamin D caused depression. Additional research will be to continue the association of Vitamin D with the ability to fight depression.
