Youth Trend Towards Oral Sex: Surprising Health Issues that are Happening
It is not surprising that teens do not think of oral sex and any type of real sexual situation. However, the number of teens that are opting for oral sex is increasing, and with it, the rise in health problems.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has done a number of studies on oral sex, including age, gender, attitude and cultural or environmental influences. The latest research is showing that the increase in oral sex is also causing an increase in passing the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is related to the cause of throat cancer. Additional problems that are associated with oral sex include the rise of oral Chlamydia, a bacterial STD that can affect both males and females with few symptoms.
Parents, caregivers and counselors are advised to include facts about oral sex and the associated health risks with their teens.
