The Food Pyramid for Kids is Replaced with the New Myplate
The Duke School of Nursing ABSN students created a rather innovative and entertaining musical version of the changes from the old food pyramid standard to the new myplate view of eating healthy. This is to compliment the updated information supplied by the USDA and found on the ChooseMyPlate.gov website. In our society, children are especially susceptible to the influences of the foods that are blasted in the media at every turn. The changes in the daily diet brings a healthier and more specific view of the types of foods that should be eaten, substituting old standards, with foods that help kids to veer away from the fast food addictions. The new myplate brings a balance of choices that are appealing for kids (and adults) for a healthy lifestyle.
