Is diabetes reversible?

The American Diabetes Association estimates that around 20 million Americans are afflicted with the onset of type-2 diabetes and well over fifty seven million are in the pre diabetes stage. It is known that type-2 diabetes is based on lifestyle choices: lack of exercise, obesity and the consumption of unhealthy foods. There have been scientific studies that show the type-2 diabetes is reversible.

Diabetes is a very serious disease.     So, what else can be done to reverse diabetes 2 besides dietary changes? I've just been diagnosed with diabetes 2, and I want to try and stop it before it gets any worse. Please, any advice would be helpful.
