Dooners (St. Petersburg)
Dooners is a German-themed restaurant out of St. Pete that finds its health-food livelihood by providing customers with 100% homemade meals, which, according to Dooners, means that their food contains no transitive fat, additives, or preservatives. Dooners specializes in salads, sandwiches, and wraps, not to mention their Doner (sound familiar?) sandwiches that are like the German version of a gyro. The restaurant also caters to veggie-lovers with a sub-menu devoted to all-vegetarian wraps. But without a doubt, the main attraction of Dooners is their Burreck menu. These pastry-style meals come filled with either ground beef, onions, garlic, and other spices, or Dooners diners can get a veggie alternative filled with spinach and feta cheese. Rounded off my combo meals and a kids’ menu, Dooners is sure to satisfy all ages and walks of life.
