Café Hey (Tampa)

Tampa Bay’s bohemian flare would be severely lacking without this little diamond in the rough. Tucked away near the interstate at 1540 N. Franklin Ave, Café Hey offers a hodgepodge of healthy and delicious coffee drinks and sandwiches that everyone from your grandmother to your teenage brother’s hipster cronies can enjoy. From its laid back vibe to its menu items titled after hit songs by classic bands like The Beach Boys (a ginger and chocolate coffee called “Surfer Girl”) and David Bowie (their avocado and smoked turkey sandwich named “Rebel Rebel”), Café Hey is consciously cool, and does a bang-up job at it. Several items, like the Kale Yeah Salad and VLT sandwich (Vegan bacon, lettuce, and tomato), round out the menu. Check out their Open Mic Nights every Thursday for some tasteful musical and poetic diversions.
