5 Ways to Improve Blood Circulation

In the last article we discussed ways poor circulation can make you feel sluggish and lethargic. Problems with blood circulation can result from buildup in blood vessel plaque and poor health. In addition to decreased energy, other signs of poor circulation include cold hands and feet, dizziness, numbness and poor memory. Taking preventative measures is the best step to stop poor circulation before it starts. Below are five ways you can improve your circulation for a healthy more energized life.

1.Exercise

The most important thing you can do for better blood circulation and increased energy is to exercise. If you are one of those people who hate the gym than find an activity that you love. Go for a run or a bike ride, play a game of tennis, whatever is enjoyable and will keep you exercising. Exercise gets your blood pumping and is especially important if you lead a sedentary lifestyle. Not only will you feel better but you will also sleep better and feel more energized.

2. Healthy Diet

As with almost any medical condition, eating a healthy well balanced diet will dramatically improve your circulation. A diet full of raw vegetables, lean proteins and fish will provide the omega fatty acids, vitamins and minerals you need for optimal health. Eating complex carbohydrates rather than simple sugars and starch will give you sustained energy and will improve your circulation.

3.Ginko

Ginko is one of the most powerful herbs for improving blood circulation. Ginko improves circulation by dilating your blood vessels thereby increasing blood flow. Ginko will increase your energy levels and is used to treat many medical conditions from varicose veins to thrombosis. Try supplementing your diet with extra Ginko and over time you will notice the changes in your circulation as the symptoms subside.

4.

Cayenne is a form of chili powder that not only helps balance your blood pressure but also stimulates the heart. Cayenne pepper strengthens and cleans your veins and arteries. Cayenne is also well known for getting your blood moving faster throughout your body within seconds of consumption. The higher the heat units of the pepper the more effective it is for your circulation. Try spicing up your food with cayenne pepper for a convenient way to add it to your diet.

5.Cold Showers

Need to wake up and get your blood moving? Try taking a cold shower. Believe it or not, taking a cold shower brings blood into your capillaries, reduces your blood pressure and helps to clean your circulatory system. This is especially effective if you live in a warm environment so your body gets a healthy shock.

Try any combination of these preventative measures and you are sure to notice the results. Exercise and a healthy diet are the best places to start as they not only help with circulation but improve your overall health.

I think the best point in this article is to find an activity you love. I think very few people actually like going to the gym, so the best thing to do is to find an activity you like doing and stick to it. I really like swimming for example, and go to the swimming pool several times a week. What do you like?
